HAZE Gradation Candle Set
Crafted in Kawagoe, Japan, from a 100% natural and organic source, a Japanese fruit called "haze". HAZE has been used in Japan for centuries to make wax for Warosoku candles (wa= Japanese, rosoku= candles). Haze is also known as "Japanese wax tree fruit" (sumac) for its excellent qualities as an ingredient for making candles.
The wick is made of Japanese paper (washi), Igusa grass and cotton, which are all sourced from Nara, Japan. Handmade using "Tegake-seiho", a traditional Japanese candle-making technique wherein wax is applied in layers around a wick.
HAZE warosoku candles create a powerful flame but only release little soot. Following the traditional Japanese style, the production of the wick, wax and final candle is split into 3 parts. HAZE enjoys honouring past traditions while looking towards a bright future and reviving the traditional cultures and craftsmanship.
This Haze set features bright, uplifting colors inspired by the sentiment "mata ashita"—see you tomorrow. Part of the Gradation Series, each candle burns for 70–80 minutes. Set includes 3 candles.
